Heh, I thought I should post this, could you try my engine demo? Any feedback will be great, here is the site: http://www.geocities.com/rendertech3d/index.html On some monitors, it is very dark, I hope you wont experience that problem. I am making a gamma correction function, so the next demo will be better from that aspect.. Thanks a lot. Try using this link, this is my official server: http://www.y3knetwork.com/rendertech/RTTest.zip [edited by - aker_jus on January 14, 2003 5:57:16 PM]

Yeah runs fine on my setup, never drops a frame or 2 below my refresh (85). Would be nice if you had the tracks running too, sweet tank model though.

AMD Duron 1.3, 384Mb Ram
Radeon 9000 Pro gfx

Thanks, yes, I am using VSync. I cannot slide the tank properly, cause I havent implemented animation for X Files yet. I plan to though

Anyone else wants to try it?

Works fine, 100 fps. Might wanna reset the device on window resize though, looked horrible after I doubled its size

Worked fine for me: AMD Athlon 1800XP, 64MB Gf3 card; 60fps.
I''m guessing you don''t have textured geometry implemented in your engine yet? Your tank model''s really good, but 36000 vertices is probably a lot to spend on anything that might show up in a game. It''d be nice to replace all those cylindrical tread rollers with a texture, for instance.

Runs great on my machine:
1.6 GHz P4
Geforce 3 Ti500
256 Mb Ram

I got 60fps the entire time, might want to allow us to disable v-sync so we could give you more accurate results. The tank model looks great btw! Keep up the good work

Wow, lots of you tried it, thanks!

My engine has a fully featured texture manager, but the tank model (it is from 3D Cafe :D) isnt textured, but rich of materials. Disableing VSync, yes I know how to do it, my engine supports it in the Init function. About the 32000 vertex tank, I did it because I wanted to see how well the optimized meshes worked.

On my PC, P4 at 2.4 and GF2MX, the tank mesh optimized runs at 160fps, without optimizations, falls to ~55fps.

I could convert the optimized to progressive to around 20000 vertices but it isnt displayed good..

Ok check in 30 minutes for the new demo with VSync disabled, lets see how much you get then!

I tried on my radeon mobility which doesnt have tl either, and I got 60 fps. Weird though, because you could get over 30fps with that card.. I might be mistaken though.
