Scripting an online poll?

Someone brought up the point about writing a script to skew an online poll in a previous thread. Im wondering. Will doing such be considered a form of Denial of Service attack and thus be illegal? IE be a quick way to get a visit from the FBI or other law enforcement?

Well I wasnt planning on doing it.

Vtwin brought up the idea and I was going to warn him against doing it before the previous thread was locked.

Even though he hates what I had to say still no reason for him to get in possible trouble for doing something like this.
