what makes you think other people have a lot of spare time? it's one thing to ask for help because you need it, and quite another - ask because you're lazy.

that''s asking quite a lot, unless you are willing to pay someone. why would anyone want to be your personal tutor, when you could easily search the internet for the answers you need, or ask at a forum if you can''t find it?

CmrDrv, if you really want help, you''ll need to post here a lot more information if you hope to convince someone to take a chunk of their time and devote it to you, a few things that would help:

1) Your experiance, i.e. what languages you may already know, how long you''ve been working with C++ (if at all), etc...

2) Your motivation, why you want to use C++ and how enthusiastic you are about learning it (otherwise someone could easily end up helping you, only for you to decide you are bored halfway through).

3) Your time and how much of it you are dedicating to learning...

Good luck,

Marc.

Why not just ask your questions in the beginner forums? Mark the threads so you won''t loose them, that way you can easily find them again (they''re also listed in your profile btw). It''s not like forums are a realtime conversation medium.

Personally, I''m fine with people asking honest questions - and trying to answer as best I can - as long as it seems they are also making serious attempts at learning by themselves. Being a personal guide or mentor however, would weigh too heavily on me, I don''t want to commit to that unless it''s part of employment or business.

Keep in mind any time invested in making a question as clear and specific as possible - including taking time to spell and format properly - will be rewarded by getting more and better answers. (This not aimed at you specifically but at posters in general). I believe there''s a "how to ask good questions" guide somewhere but darn if I can find it (or is that in someone''s signature?).

hth,

"Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it." — Brian W. Kernighan
