"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one''s ignorance."
Confucious
"He that cannot reason is a fool. He that will not is a bigot. He that dare not is a slave."
Andrew Carnegie
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
Albert Einstein
"A human being is part of the whole called by us ''Universe'', a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest...
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty...We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive."
Albert Einstein
Nah, I''m not wise, I can''t come up with any quotes myself. in many ways I think I''m the worst sort of fool, the fool that recognizes wisdom but does not put it to practice. I''ve heard many people quote the cliche, "knowledge is power" or "information is power". I think that is 100% false. For knowledge or information without the courage to use it is impotence. Knowledge or information without the maturity to use it for good is blasphemy. Wisdom is neither intelligence nor education. All wise people are intelligent, not all intelligent people are wise. I think wisdom is a recognition of the vast gulf between who we are, and what we can be and when combined with courage is the ability to cross that gulf. Wisdom without courage is waste.
But don''t listen to me, like I said I''m the worst sort of fool.
