some of you flash coders are out there... help me I''m a newbie in Flash How do you use FLOATING POINT variables? As far as I know there''s no way to say which type of variable you want, you just declare variables willy nilly and use them as "variant" types. But the problem is, 5 * 0.9 = 0 !!! because it won''t accept fraction... it just bumps it down to 0. So there''s no way to use floats? I got pseudo-floats working by scaling up my "integers" by 100 but that is incredibly tedious (having to scale down, and correcting mult/div operations). There''s got to be a way?

oopsie... nevermind this.

Flash''s brilliant compiler/debugger led me to believe the shortcoming was with Flash itself, but in reality it was an undetected error in my own code.

3 cheers for Flash''s non-existing debugger!
