Hi, I''m using UnrealEd 3.0 for making my maps but the problem is that with the new version, the textures are stored with DXTC1 compression. With the previous version, UnrealEd 2.0 (Unreal Tournament), the textures have no compression. So, my question is : Does anyone knows a program for reading DXTC1, 3 et 5 files and save them with no compression ? Thanks. Paint Shop Pro 7.0 doesn''t support that. ======================== Leyder Dylan (dylan.leyder@slug-production.be.tf http://www.slug-production.be.tf/

I believe you can let UnrealED do that for you. Open the texture-package you want, and choose export from the menue. If it isn''t changed, you can export the files as a .gif file, which you can open with almost any graphics editor.
Newbie programmers think programming is hard.Amature programmers think programming is easy.Professional programmers know programming is hard.

There is a DDS plugin for Photoshop, you can download it from developer.nvidia.com.

Put the Nvidia DDS plugin for Photoshop to the Paint Shop Pro
plugins folder and read the Paint Shop Pro Doc

I use it in Paint Shop Pro 5 and 7 and it works !

FYI The version of UnrealED that ships with Unreal 2 isn''t supposed to export textures. It either crashes, exports garbage, or an empty file. I think there is a tool someone released in the Unreal Community that will read and extract from the packages but I don''t know the name of it.
UnrealEd 3.0 can export texture. I''ve tryed that and it works but the problem is that some textures are TGA file and others file with DXTCx compression.

I''ll take a look for the program.

Oh, yeah, UED that ships with UT 2003 exports fine. I don''t know where I got the idea that you were using Unreal 2.

What is wrong with TGA''s and dds''s? As others posted, nVidia released a stand-alone tool to read them and theres a plugin for photoshop.
Yes I know, I''ll try that soon because I''m busy for the moment ...
