hello, i''m think i''m a leet visual basic programmar, and i want to make games in it for a career, which companies hire visual basic programmars? EA sounds like they would cos the windows that pop up look similar in some of their cool games! Maybe the people who made vice city would be good, but my mum won''t let me play it so i can''t tell how good it is, but everyone says its realy cool. I''m onlly young so do you think they would put someone like me in programming???? thank you for your replies!

How young? Yous should almost definately learn C++, unless you are like 7...

Quit picking on him! VB is a very useful language, and can be used for many things, including games. In fact, it was learning VB in high school that I first got interested in programming. bookingchart, if you like using VB, then stick with it for now. It''s a good langauge for begining programming. Later, if you want to go further, then you can try learning another language, or two, or three (C, C++, Java, Scheme, Pascal...). Hope that helps.

Visual Basic is a completely worthless language. It only compiles for Windoze. It's a Micro$oft product, which automatically makes it a huge pile of bugware/bloatware. It's slow as hell compared to a real language like C++. It teaches you tons of bad programming habits, probably crippling your programming skills for the rest of your life. Really, you should give up on that piece of trash. C++ is the only language worthy of a real programmer's notice.

No, with VB you will never be able to make gaems. To make gaems you have to use HTML w/ Variables support.

i could try to learn c or the c++ but apparently its really HARD. my friend mark knows it and he makes really cool stuff like this program where you are this little guy and you have to pick up thesecoins, it is so cool, because in vb you can''t do could grahpics like that so easily. he says you have to do crazy code like this (quoted from him):

Who thinks i should keeep going with Vb, or change to c++?
