Windows XP Backup CD

Hi all, the other day i brought my laptop to work, and left some CDs in the car, in the sun all day. My Matrix Reloaded OST cds went to hell, cant play them anymore, and my compaq windows xp cd is "shacky"... sometimes i can read it, sometimes i cant. Can i make a legal backup copy? Well, anyway, i tried already, but i have problems with certain files, like files that have "~"... ?! Im a Nero fan myself, how do i make a good copy? I have a project coming up soon and i need this, im desperate. should i contact compaq? oh man

Try using CloneCD instead of Nero... use the "copy to cd" option or make an image and then burn the image to disc.

I got a good chance to copy all the files on the CD to my HD, but everytime I burn the files into a CD, and then do a dummy installation try, the install program says it can''t find certain files, like cyclad or something. I noticed all the files have a ~ character... is this something to prevent copying?

Im now spending time trying to backup this thing when i should be preparing the project...
