Since javanerd hasn''t been around for a long time, it''s time to find a replacement for him (unless he emails me telling me he still monitors the forum). I don''t come here often enough to intuitively know who would best fill the role, so if there is someone who you think is both knowledgeable and a regular visitor, please nominate them here, or email me privately.

Deal. One vote for fadilthrejk from me (assuming he gives a vote to me )

Edit: Btw, what's with that thing in your message, that fadilthrejk - The Architect - Member since: Before time was created, etc?

I think SabreMan or Arild Fines would fit the role pretty well. Not sure if they have the time though...

Once upon a time I would''ve liked to moderate...but my visiting gamedev is pretty sporadic anymore, and I''ll be honest, even though I''m most comfortable in Java, I don''t know it well enough to moderate. So I will un-nominate myself, just in case anyone was thinking about nominating me.

Might just wanna ask one of the existing floater mods if they want to. Doesn''t look like anybody here is even remotely capable or deserving of moderator status.

I once made a partially working raycaster in java... I wonder if that counts as expierience. I nominate fadilthrejk though.

The question is; will he do it?

But, Yep this forum has been needing a leader for quiet sometime. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of AWT, J3D, threads, timers, ALL the new stuff in 1.4.1 as well as swing.

I would nominate myself but for these 2 reasons:

1. My knowledge of Java is sporadic at best
2. I'm an ass ;P (EDIT: although I do seem to be one of the few people that come here who actually has a web page with java games and source code... (www.geocities.com/nonnus29/index.htm))

Not qualities desirable in a mod....

I nominate Egon Olson or Snowmoon, but those guys don't come around anymore.

Ditch the specialized Java forum altogether, sending Java folks over to the forums at Sun''s java gaming site. Enough discussions involving Java are posted to the game programming, general programming, and lounge forums anyway.

[sarcasm]
And while your at it, why don''t you just shut down GameDev since there are other sites that do it anyway.

the java forums here should not go for the meer fact that it is tough to find good game programming (other then MIDP) forums on the internet. and general programming forums, as many of you know, respond badly to posts concerning games...

hi,
i'm an old rabbit here, and only come rarely here because i've also jumped to http://www.javagaming.org/cgi-bin/JGNetForums/YaBB.cgi. It's a much more active and better forum concerning java gaming, it's just a fact.
I find a direct link could be made from this forum topic to JGO forums, or even as a main-link on the news page. Don't be offensed, it's just a question of... forums! It's better and more visited there, that's all!

In the case nothing is changed, my vote goes for Arild Fines.
