I need to render one sweet balloon which seems like his small 2D friends from RollerCoasterTycoon. I made a model. I did glBlendFunc(GL_SRC_ALPHA,GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); I did glColor4f(0.5f,0.7f,1,0.3f); I did glDepthMask(0); I called that model. compiling... linking... 0 errors, 0 warnings. I said "cool" program started... IT LOOKED TERRIBLE!! that balloon was the flattest balloon which I have ever seen... --------------------------------- How can I make any function which set LESS alpha in the "center" (or middle) of the balloon. Please help me. Next day I have seen something better: vertex shader. They said me that it IS possible to create my balloon. Does somebody know HOW?
When I was younger, I used to solve problems with my AK-47. Times have changed. I must use something much more effective, killing, percise, pernicious, efficient, lethal and operative. C++ is my choice.

Yes, I AM using lighting. But when you look through the "edge" of ball, you are looking through a bigger mass of plastic and it appears less transparent. help....

Try using a specular material for the balloon. Then the lighting will create reflections/highlights off the balloon''s surface. That should give it a little more 3D-ness.
