Hey, I want to start looking into remote console stuff, When I log into a remote unix server or something using telnet, It can do stuff like set cursor position. I was wondering how I can set a program to do this, Like I run it as a server and use Telnet to get into it, and It displays a message in the middle of the screen, without filling the preceeding area with spaces or something... I''m guessing it''s and RFC or something, but I have no Idea how to find out this information. Thanks.

Ahah.. That looks like it! Thanks very much. Now I just have to get it to serve! and then support multiple users! and then I have a mud!

Haha... you sound just like me a few years ago. On this very board I posted the same question in the hopes of creating a mud. I actually got pretty far. You can fight, and there are locations and stuff, but no AI to speak of and no items If you have any further questions about MUD stuff, feel free to email me.
