I know it is not immediately related to game development, but I have been getting very interested in electronics.. building circuits and such. Would you be interested in me writing an article about building electronic circuits and such, since it seems like something this community might be interested in? I mean, moving on to more advanced things, it probably DOES relate to game programming in ways. You could, for instance, build a robot that connects to the computer and is used in a game.. I believe there are some that do things similar to this already out. Well, let me know. I''d read it...

What level of skill would you aim at? Start from basic V=IR or do some harder AC circuit stuff? Or even harder again...?

VERY basic.. I just started myself, and would work on tutorials as I learn.

Me too, I''m also searching for tutorials on electronics! I''d like to apply my C++ knowledge to code the ''brain'' of a robot I''ll build from scratch (after obtaining knowledge in electronics of course)

This would be something really cool to see. Granted it doesn''t directly relate to game programming, but could make good use of AI programming. And it''d be pretty darn cool.

I know only that which I know, but I do not know what I know.

whoa — slow down guys...
It seems none of you have done much in the way of electronics, and to progress straight on to robotics... Oh well, I guess you''ll learn.

Here''s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently.

I wouldn''t recommend that. Explaining it to others is a great way to learn, certainly, but you''re much, *much* more prone to teaching a large number of people something which is incorrect. Books for beginners also often leave out vital information because it''s ''too advanced'' or because you''ll cover it later; if you''ve drawn conclusions from the early material (and then written it up), extra information may undermine those conclusions later on.

Build a few electronic devices from scratch first, and then I''d say go for it.
