D is so last century, E is the future. I built a Half Life 2 engine with it in like 1 day, it rocks! Check it out... http://www.skyhunter.com/marcs/ewalnut.html#SEC1

This is a horrible parody thread.

E so totally owns. It fixes all the flaws of D and adds so much more to it:

  • Variables (for those who don''t like HTML)
  • HTML (for those who don''t like variables)
  • Compatibility with Befunge
  • Whitespace overloading
  • Unicode symbol names
  • Roman numerals
  • Continuations
  • LISP-style macros

And it''s only $19.99. Plus if you call with your credit card, you get the preprocessor for FREE !!!

Actualy, i might find a use with whitespace overloading. I cant remember how many times I have wanted to redefine nothing. We should prepose to have it added officialy to D though.....

now, if only D/E would support in-line BrainFu*k support....

But actualy, in a few years D will be replaced by either D# or Dflat anyway, no use complaning about it.

I love that article. Bjarne is the man. This quote about what restrictions would be placed on the new C++ is great.

quote:
Instead, it was decided to by default limit identifiers to a single character:

int xy; // error: two-character identifier

This may seems Draconian at first . However, since we now have the full Unicode character set available,
we don''t actually need hard-to-read long names. Such long names only make code obscure by causing
unpleasantly long lines and unnatural line breaks. Multi-character names are a relic of languages that
relied heavily on global name and encouraged overly-large scopes.

People, you can''t beat that for ironic parody.

thats not the job of D. nor the job of E. BrainFu*k comes with F, wich is short for Fu*k, the shorter, and more simple BrainFu*k for the future..

uhm.. yes

but actually, E is quite a big page to be a fake only:D is it really usable, or really just a big fake? D at least is usable.. :D
