PS2 Controller Technical Question

Hello! I want to make a controller by myself for PS2. Is there anything on the net about the subject? Or someone maybe clever and nice enough to answer my question: -The sticks on the contr. also function as a button. Are they pressure sensitive like the other buttons? I dont have a PS2 so i was not able to test it myself... Thanks a lot!
