mySQL database programming

Well, this is really two things. You need to learn SQL, to manipulate the data in the database, and you need to learn a bit about the C or C++ MySQL API.
I would suggest you look at the MySQL documentation for both of those. The C API is pretty easy to understand. For learning SQL, you might also want to look at w3schools.com. Which should help you understand it more easily than the documentation. Use the docs for reference though, and to check up on MySQL specific extensions.

I know SQL quite well from my time as ASP programmer where i used databases allot. Its just the C++ -> Database thats the hard part, connecting and how to get my sql commands executed
