Question about DSL modems

What the hell is "wardy"? This topic is also highly deserving of an "ok" chain.

Did you install the phone line filters? Have you cleaned the wax out of your ear and tried listening to the instructions they give you? Reason being, if they expect Joe Sixpack to register his modem, they had better make it easier than voting Republican.

I installed the phone filters.

So I have to call them back and register my modem?

In order to work they need to register your number as a DSL customoner, just as they say. Do you expect the phone company to be running some network where anyone can plug a DSL modem into the line and steal internet service? Your line has to be "connected" to the data service. Right now its just got voice service enabled. Depending on your companies setup this may be as simple as toggling an option on a computer screen or it may require someone to go to an older style physical switchboard (big, big room with lots of wires going everywhere) pull out the plug to your line, and put in a new one that has been attached to a different trunk.

But it says you are living in Barmuda! How can you be living in South Wardy?

I live in Miramar, Florida. My room is its own world though and it is called "Bermuda", wardy!!

So when I register my phone number as a DSL customer will they ask me a bunch of questions? Because my mother isn''t here and shes the one that switched to the new phone company.

Seriously guys, what the hell is this "wardy" crap? Is it some new hip/ironic American humour?

I registered my phone number as a DSL customer now but the modem still doesn''t work. The ready light keeps blinking which means it is trying to establish a connection or a connection isn''t able to be established.

Am I suppose to wait for 24 hours for my modem to actualyl work?

I''m being serious here... just so you know... BellSouth are the cream of the crop AXXHOLES.. trust me on this one, when I lived in Jacksonville I switched to some third party vendor. Yes I paid a little more but I didn''t get jerked around by them, or find two months of long distance charges showing up on one bill two months later. When I called the so-called customer service to dispute some charges, it turned into a fighting match. There was no professionalism on their end.

I don''t like how they handle business either. Some guy from customer services was reading the TOS to me word for word 30 minutes straight!!(I am not exaggerating. I was looking at the time every five minutes) How do you expect a human being to sit there listening to some boring white guy talk abotu terms and services and all of the legal crap? He could have atleast refer me to their website...........

My modem still doesn''t work. I''ll have to check tomorrow to see what is going on. Easy as toggling options on your computer screen my ass.

During the man''s TOS speech he mentioned something about rebate form and termination fee? What the fu...? You need to pay a fee just to terminate your service? That is fu..ing stupid!!

Anyways, my modem still doesn''t work. Do I have to fill out a rebate form or something?

He most likely meant an early termination fee. I take it you''ve never signed a contract before (i.e. cellphone, internet, etc.).
