Check this out. You choose categories to create a profile, and then you search! Stuff is now additionally weighted by the categories that Google thinks fits them. It''s in beta and it''s at <http://labs.google.com/personalized>.

actually, that''s pretty damn cool.

I entered the profile thing, and then searched for "news"

At first, CNN was on top, but sliding the slider right brought slashdot to the top.

cool.

Interesting, but for some reason if I set personalize to max and search for "gamedev" Gamedev.Net gets 8th place instead of first. With most of my interests being in computers, software, and programming, you''d think Gamedev.Net would get ranked higher.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other

I put in a few things and GD comes out 1 and 2. Drops down a bit when I turn up the personalization though.
