I cant get response from Ping when trying to ping my computer from another computer. I''m using ADSL and cant figure out what is wrong. I''m implementing a Game soh when i host the game in my computer i cant see it from other computers in the Net. Computers in my local network can see the game. Im using directplay peer-2-peer network implementation. I read something about NAT. But cant understand. How can i create a game "just clicking in CREATE button" and them passing my internal IP (behind NAT) to a friend and ...how can he join the game using this IP? is it possible???? Think in joining a game like Age of Empires.

So you are behing a router?

I encountered this the other day - I couldn''t telnet into my game server!! Anyways, you have to figure out your server''s IP (www.whatismyip.com) and have your friend connect to that on a specified port. Whatever port is used, you''ll have to forward incoming data on that port to your local computer (with local IP). This way the router takes the incoming data, and directs it to you. I''m presuming you''ve got a firewall, in which case ports will most likely be closed from the outside - you''ll have to open it up.

If you''re using XP, this is simple - poke around and find where the available ports are defined in your OS, and create a custom one for your game).

Hope that helps.. it probably didn''t, but I tried.
