I''ve downloaded the VC++ Toolset and have installed it - however does anyone know how I can set this up so it can be used be Visual C++ 6.0? I''ve read some of the others posts which suggest that cl.exe and link.exe should be replaced, but what about all of the libs and headers? Are these updated, and if so, is it safe to overwrite the v6.0 ones?

Say you installed the tools to g:\vc2003tools

Go to Tools->Options->Directories

Add g:\vc2003tools\bin to executables list
Add g:\vc2003tools\include to include list
Add g:\vc2003tools\lib to library list

Make sure all of them are the top entries.

This way you don''t need to overwrite ANY files.

How will the compiler know which headers/libs to use? Version checking?

EDIT:
Erm, nevermind - I get it... (Because they're top of the list, right?)
