Uhm... What is a prom ?

OK. I was just curious. We don''t have that over here. Sounds fun.

Well, I''m well over a year too late for this thread, but here are some photos of me from my highschool prom..

Ours was great! Black tux, silver vest; she had a great off-blue (can''t think of a better description of the color) dress. Took a limo there, huge place, tons of food, gambling (fake money), raffle (with fake money) - I won a camera, etc. Afterwards we went to a friends house, ate, played random games, watched movies, slept for two hours, ate again, played more random games, watched more movies, and finally I took her home.







PROM ROCKS. Best day I''ve had in a long time! (Now if only I had the guts to tell her that )

My prom is on the 21st and I finally mustered the courage to ask someone I've liked for a looong time. She said yes :D

She's just wearing a simple white dress and I'm going with the standard black tux.

No pix yet, will post when I get them if I find this thread again

$200 is cheap, I'm spending $600-$700 and I don't regret a single penny of it. Get a job and you'd be surprised how easy it is to make some cash on the side. Prom > new graphics card

im going to get a cat.... all good supervillians had cats, and im saying lower end $200 cause i already had a tux and junk, but 2 tickets were 100, and then dinner, and crap and crap and crap, is where the + comes in

Ticket: $100
Limo: $80
Tux: $120
Clutch: $50
Total: $350

Not bad, really. And it was worth it. It was really that much fun.

My prom is the 29th. My date has an idea of what type of dress she wants and I''m going in a black zoot suit. Me and my date are pretty lax about the entire thing so the above is about all we''ve thought about. We''ve talked about a limo but haven''t decided on anything definite... perhaps we''ll being in a limo with a few of our friends.

Good for you. live it up. more people in the CS world should have the balls to act tough in person instead of just behind a computer screen.

My grad wasn't all that bad, free run of an arcade for four hours, then a hypnotist show. Didn't win any of the prizes, but they all sucked anyway. Here are some pics:

I''m not going to prom. One reason is because I''m only a sophomore, another reasoon is that I''d rather stay at home and masturbate.

My prom is on the 15th. My date''ll have a nice red dress on, and I''ll have a standard white tux. Tickets are only 15$ a piece, because originally the Junior class of our school (which was the class paying for it and organizing it) had saved and raised a shitload of money to have it on a yacht in the Rhein river, but the BSB commander pulled some shit that because of "force protection", we couldn''t. So now the money they made translates into savings for us, plus bitching decorations, food, etc, and an awesome DJ. And there''s still 3000$ left over for next year (not that I''ll see any of it, since I''ll be graduating, but hey, good for them).

As odd as it is, I am going to prom this year. I say "odd" because I am not one who is very good with girls, and it was very hard for me to ask her; in fact, I spent an entire week trying to work up the nerve to do so, but I did it and got a yes. I really expected her to say "No," but I was pleasantly surprised. If you want another sad detail: this will be my first date ever . I'm seventeen and I have never even been to a movie with a member of the opposite sex. I'm such a loser. Oh well, I expect the same is true for many of the forum-goers here. Har.

I'm not sure what kind of car we'll be driving, but I'm not the one doing the driving as I don't have my license. Yar, my date's picking me up. I'll be wearing a black tux with a red vest and my date's going to wear a red dress. I'm not sure what the theme is, but I'm assuming it's Mardi Gras, as that's what is painted all over my after prom t-shirt. It's on the 22^nd. After prom sounds kind of fun . . . apparently there's going to be a lot of gambling with fake money until 4 AM. I'm glad the money is fake, because I'd leave broke if it weren't.

If the pics turn out well--and that's a big if; don't trust my parents with a camera, because they fucking suck at taking pictures--I might post some.


You guys have to pay for prom? It's free here--well, not really. They just make everyone at our school play class dues, which go towards paying for prom. So, even if you don't go to prom at my school, you're still paying for it. :-D

Edit: Oh yeah, do not fucking joke about prom to girls. I told my date I was going to get an orange tux and shave my head and she threated to tear my heart out with a butter knife and gag me with a rusty spoon so that I get tetnus. She was serious.
