I want me some 4 Elements so I finally have an excuse to finish that damn engine I started at around 4E2 time (or was it 4E1?)

Yeah, another 4 Elements contest would rock.

It''s been quite a while since the last contest. Perhaps we can aim to get something started by the end of the month.

It''d be nice to have a new contest. Doesn''t really have to be another 4 Elements contest, but something graphics related would be nice, considering some of the kickinrad new features that have been added to graphics cards since last contest.

But I don't have a PCI Express slot to make real use of one yet Besides, there is no AiW X800 so I don't see myself replacing my AiW 9800 Pro.

Boy... this left my original question fast. Can someone explain to me what a 4 Elements contest is? I''ve heard about it, but I don''t come here often enough to know what it is.

4 Elements is a programming contest (there have been 3 of them so far). The objective is to make a game/demo within a certain time limit that showcases the four elements - wind, earth, water, fire. Games are judged for graphic appeal, how well they use the four elements, creativity, interest and polish by a panel of judges.

Last years was won by Seth with the Tarzan demo. A great (and hilarious) achievement. But what made it greater for me is that it was by the man who is responsible for me getting into programming.

OMG, do I hear Seth Able the Bard trying to tell stories about the Legend Of the Red Dragon???????????
