I have been getting this error message several times. Sometimes my computer would boot up just fine, like right now, sometimes Windows complains saying that it can''t access the boot disk. It says to run chkdsk /f, etc etc. I did it, nothing wrong, but there it goes again. Is my hard drive dying?

I believe I had this error once (it was a while ago; it may have been different). Try turning off DMA for that drive in the BIOS; it fixed whatever problem I was having.

This can be a tricky problem, I''m currently dealing with it at work. But thats mostly because I''m upgrading users PC''s which means different chipsets. Make sure you got the right chipset drivers installed. Also like ze_jackal said, check the bios settings. And if that fails, it never hurts to scandisk/chkdsk the harddrive.
