I am in serious need of help, I have been trying to get collision detection in a tile based game, but to no luck. I simply don''t know how to implement it, so if anyone could take a look at my source ( http://www.angelfire.com/ia/phyber75/nbb_tiles.zip ) and just give me some hint at how I should go about getting it to work (the source in the link has absolutely no collision detection, you can just "walk" around... Any help is appreciated, and I pray someone will have the patience to look at my code... Mikael Jacobson

Since your talking about a tile-based game you might want to think about using a bounding box as the collision detection.
Here''s how it basically works: Your character is bounded by a bounding box (Which is the surface''s size) and each tile is also bounded by a box of it''s own.
When one box touches (Or invades, if you will ) the other box we have a collision.
