just wondering who here has made over a hundred dollars on shareware? the kind where you let them use the product for a set amount of time and then they have to buy it to use it? hmm maybe thats called trialware..

I went with a 2 month trial period (budget program). When it expired the user could no longer save and was nagged. Did pretty good considering how goofed the design was. Hindsight as they say.

I only made $12 off my shareware software.

About a week after I had submitted it to some shareware sites, it had been cracked and serial numbers for it had been posted all over these asian warez sites.

Funny thing was, though, that those sites linked a screenshot of my program right off my own server. I promptly replaced the screenshot with an image of a goat that could see ;)
