Did you read the adaptation in English language of "Le successeur de pierre" of Jean-Michel Truong. It's an astonishing novel by a French specialist in AI. It really rocks everything. One of the points of the book that I noticed is that an intelligent program must first cooperate, if he is attacked, he must reply gradually, and then try to "forgive", by cooperating. The program must then replicate itself, with some imperfections, some little bugs, to see if these bugs can improve it, and by a kind of natural selection, is able to evolve by itself. My question is, is it possible to create such a program in C++ ? Could a program be able to duplicate itself with some little differences into son-programs, and to duplicate the one which could resolve the problem, and back to the beginning of the cycle ? Is it possible to create a "intelligent program" which will "learn", in a way, how to behave through experience ? Thanks to all who could answer me :) Romy

Sounds like a genetic algorithm.
