Does anyone have a piece of code that can roduce a random terrain for a DirectDraw program. By randome I mean random heights, all I want is a simple piece of code to generate tiles / heights for each map grid. I tried something just now but the reults I''m getting are not right, either the terrain is too hilly, or it''s blank as the heights at each point of the isometric tiles are wrong so no tile is prduced. The ideal algortihm would be something like what populous used when it first came out. Can anyone help me?

Thanks for the link, but I''ve already crossed that one off my list, as I can not see how it would generate an isometric map without some major re-coding.

Unfortunattly that link is of no use to me I''m using DirectDraw and not Direct3D, so I''m limited to the tiles that I can use.
I''ve used two different types of terrain generators (that one, and another one that I got on the amiga) but they were both more suited to D3D than DD.

Thanks again.
