Anyone know where I can get a working 16-bit .bmp loader? One that will load the bitmap info (just RGB vals, that is) into a generic buffer would be preferable? I wrote my own, but I''m not sure if it works, because it could be a few other things that are screwing it up.. I''d just like to narrow down the possibilities.

I don''t have a loader to give you, but just to let you know, there is no such thing as a 16bit bitmap. You usually load a 24 or 32 bit bitmap and then convert it because there are two (main) types of 16bit, 5.5.5 and 5.6.5. Because of this, there is no 16bit standard for bitmaps and so programs can not create them. That might be your problem.

Actually the bitmap specification does provide for 16-bit bitmaps. The data is stored in the 555 pixel format, so if you''re using 565, you just have to shift the green over one place. Though I don''t know of any programs that can actually generate a 16-bit bitmap...
