As the title says: What was the first video game you ever played? I remember playing a game when I was probably 10 (I think that means it was in 1992), it was on one of my dads mates systems that cost him nearly AU$6000. It did two things: 1. Let you type in a horrible word processing program on one of those wonderful green monitors 2. Play a game where you had a stick figure that you had to steer through a maze. If you hit one of the walls, the futuristic pc speaker would make a noise that sounded like pain. Ah, then the days that I got my first 486DX100, complete with a 64k hard drive on the motherboard, and those wonderful 5 inch disks. Now, lets get reminiscing

Good question, this brought back a lot of good memories for me.

When my dad got to bring home a PC (most likely a 286 b/c of the time, perhaps a 386) I played mahjonng although I had no idea what I was doing. In first grade or kindergarden we had an Apple ][ w/ some garfield game on it that I'm pretty sure was monochrome. The first game I actually played a lot of was the Carmen Sandiego game.

Super Mario Bros. was my first console game, but I remember my parents playing it a lot more than me b/c I was so young.

I remember my dad playing some games on the ZX Spectrum, but the first game i really *played* would have to be Prince of Persia on my spanking new IBM PS/1... ahh... the memories...

Consoles:

A Pong game. The controller had a wheel.

Computers:

There was a moped. There were lanes and cars. The view was down from the sky. I controlled the moped left to right while the road and the cars scrolled down.

VIC-20 by Commodore.

First game I ever really _played_ was Hugos House of Horrors, I remember going to a friends housed down the street when I was like 5 or 6, grabbing his 5" floppy and running home to play with it. The second one was probably Prince of Persia. Oh the memories.

Smurfs for the Atari 2600 over at a friends house, must have been like '84 or '85. Not long after that though it was Super Mario Bros.

First computer game must have been something for the Amiga 500, maybe Marble Madness, can't really remember.

I can kinda remember the first time I played an arcade machine but I have no idea what game it was, something like Ghosts 'n Goblins. And I don't remember if I played it before Smurfs or not but my dad had to hold me up because I was too short to see the screen.

Early eighties, the folks just got me an Atari 2600, with the paddles and the joysticks, and a few games. Can't say which was first, but I loved that game where you had to jump off a see-saw and pop balloons. I'm not sure about the name, I think it was Circus.
