Here it is, my first game to ever get off my own hard drive in my 10+ years of programming. Screenshot Download Core: Msi Installer Zip file Minimum known requirements are a Dx8 Compatible Video card and at least a 700Mhz machine? (Probably lower on the machine specs) Edited by Coder: Image size ~150 Kb. Made it a link [Edited by - Coder on August 30, 2004 4:08:16 AM]

Dying looks way too cool. Where's my incentive to not blow my self up on purpose?

Demo mode would make a nice screen saver.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other

I made this for you, aftermath, just because you asked so nicely.

Wow, that is an awesome game. I love the controls, a little strange at first, but works great. Great particle effects, fast action, and simple but effective sounds. Good job!

Nice work man. Now I've just gotta get back to working on my stuff if I have any chance of releasing anything before 10 years of programming has passed...

Hahaha thats funny smart_idiot. Anywho theres now a zip version for those that don't like msi's. And thanks for the positive comments.

If you want to make your own demos then heres the trick. Add a Folder called Data to the place Core.exe is at and after you play a game it will write a file game.demo into that directory. then rename it to either game1.demo game2.demo or game3.demo and core will randomly select one of those to play for the demos.

And I've made lotsa games before this one... just I never finished them casue they got overcomplex or something went horridly wrong. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about.

Thanks again

Awesome work. The controls make it interesting at the beginning :)

Sorry about posting to the wrong place. It's been along time since I've been here.

It's a nice game, but switching weapons is hard. You don't really have time to figure select a better one at the time you need it, so I usually stick to the standard gun. I'm not really sure if there is an easy solution for this, perhaps use the scrollwheel?

I like the game, it's very simplistic (not in a bad way) and reminds me of the original astroids.

Really great classic game. I love all the particles and the effects and the clear sounds and.. yeah its fun!

I think if you make any more additions I would like a highscore screen and a custom mouse crosshair picture would be nifty. And maybe cycling through weapons with the right mouse button and I think pressing Escape should take you back to the menu screen rather than quit.

I liked the game as well, however, I did not like how the controls worked the movement. You should go with a rotation model rather than a directional model. Could just be me, but it feels awkward otherwise :)

Its cool, I like it. The only things I can think of to improve it are makeing it a little harder and a different system for changing the weapon, maybe use the right mouse button to switch between or something...

That's one fun game. Care to throw in a little documentation so we can spread it around? Erm.. in the zip archive that is.

I may be stupid at the moment, but with all the talk about changing weapons, I'd like to ask how to do it! [smile]

(Edit) Oh, seems like the MSI has a help file.

okay... I added a real simple high score to it. (Its in the upper right corner) sorry that I can't store names with it as I don't have the energy to make an entire alphabet in vectors.

And the zip file has the help file as well in it now too.

I tried asteroid stle movement and it was very difficult to get out of tight spots so I stuck with the directional movement.

Sorry about the slow start pace too.. it's kinda meant to help get the feel for the controls.

The way the input system works doesn't allow me to easily make a cyclable weapon system.

All in all I've learned alot from making this simple game and I shall be applying what I've learned in my next creation.

Thanks to all who enjoy this fun simple game =)

Happy Coding
