Have any of you have played DOOM3 on a LCD Monitor. If YES then which one? I have to buy a a monitor this month finally ... but confused :( However, I have seen the DOOM3 demo being played on a LCD Monitor in an exhibition. But haven't played it yet. So for those of you who have ... is it worth it?

I'm having some difficulty understanding why it would matter.

crt's are better for games.
higher refresh rates and all.

Oddly enough, I don't think this is an issue in Doom 3.

I haven't played the game, but my impression is that the lighting is a tad more important than the framerate?

Yeah, as long as your monitor can display black you're not missing anything.

I haven't played the game myself, but I am surprised to hear that a game that is fairly dark with streaks of light here and there would not look worse on an LCD. From what I understand, LCD's are more prone to ghosting affects than CRTs. On a side note, UT04 looks fine on mine.

I played it on my laptop, which of course has an LCD screen. It looks perfectly good.

Seems fine on my LCD. I'm not sure why it wouldn't, but whatever your reason, it works fine.
