What do people think about having the ability to preview private messages before you send them? If you make a mistake when posting a thread message you can always go in and edit it after having posted it but with PM's you can not. You just look like an idiot to the recipient when you muck up your quotes or write incorrect HTML etc...

You've got my vote.

The best thing about the internet is the way people with no experience or qualifications can pretend to be completely superior to other people who have no experience or qualifications.

But I like knowing when idiots are PMing me...

[grin]

sounds like a good idea. edit: Anonymous posters too? (as an option, not a requirement. @%$#$ing slashdot)

I'd like this and a thread message preview.

Yeh, I think preview functionality would be useful for both PMs and regular postings.

Agreed. This is something that should be possible all over the place (things like journal entries and news postings) as common functionality.

Yeah, writing equations using HTML tends to produce errors. A preview instead of a "post->edit->post->edit->post->finally get it right" would be very useful.

At least we don't get a boatload of 'edited by' tags in the process anymore, and the < eating has been reduced to a minimum.

I liked that feature [sad]

Anyways, yes, a preview feature would be nice in a lot of areas.
In time the project grows, the ignorance of its devs it shows, with many a convoluted function, it plunges into deep compunction, the price of failure is high, Washu's mirth is nigh.

For some reason when I PM HTML, specifially IMG tags, it spits is back with "cannot send to more than one recipent?" whatever. If you *can* put HTML in there, then a preview would be awesome!

Along those lines, if you don't put one in, put an "edited by" counter somewhere just to impress people about our button-pressing prowlness.

Has someone who could implement this feature read this? There seems to be a pretty good response. Do I have to notify anyone of the thread?
