I am using c++ and i have been writing small but useful programs to me, i am now trying to write a phone book type program that stores all entries into a string or something, but the thing i was wondering is can you write a save feature into a dos program? if so, please explain or post a link. thanks a lot.

In a nearby C++ reference look up ifstream and ofstream, or if you prefer, fopen, fclose, fread, fwrite, fprintf, and fscanf. ifstream and ofstream are like cin and cout but for files, and fopen etc are C library functions.
