Hi, i am currently trying to learn glsl, however it seems i kinda got a video card problem....since all i have is a gf4 ti4200 and from what i've read, glsl is only supported on the FX models and up... however i've also found the NVemulate on nvidia's site which enables me to emulate shaders... i downloaded some shader demos and i have to say it was REALLY REALLY slow with that emulator...but for right now i only want to learn glsl and it doesn'T matter even if its real slow. the thing is im wondering if nvemulate will actually let me code some shaders with c++, cause i just tried to compile the examples on http://www.clockworkcoders.com/oglsl/downloads.html and none of them will build, i get a linking errors...would that be related to my video card or just some other problem?? main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: __thiscall aShaderManager::aShaderManager(void)" (??0aShaderManager@@QAE@XZ) errors like these... i know, a FX5200 doesn't cost a lot and i should buy one but right now im even too broke to buy that... let me know if NVEmulate will actually let me program some glsl.. tks

a linking error aint got nothing to do with your graphics card, ie yould get that error if u had a gf6800 or onboard intel.

yes if nvemulate works (+ it should) then u should be able to use glsl on your 4200

I used NVemulate to practice glsl some weeks ago.
The error you are having is not related to NVemulate, it must be from some missing link or something related.

I would recoment you to just practice in "renderMonkey" or "shader designer"(<
Then when you get a new video card, implement glsl into your program, this is very easy and it only takes a day of hard coding maximun.

BTW if you try using your card to do some shaders in programs bigger than the simple cube or teapot, it probably will run a less than 1 FPS so just use shder designer for the moment.
