Cool. In my humble opinion, I think that the interface may be too sleek and business-like for young children. I would consider something simpler and chunkier. Also the animations in the comics go by much faster than children could read, so you might make a seperate button for the animation. After the child reads the text, the child could click the button to see the animation. Just some ideas
