What's the deal with this? Any opinions? I believe AIDS was man made, so somebody probably already has a cure sitting around. Could this be it? http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=5676977.WKU.&OS=PN/5676977&RS=PN/5676977 -Peta

Sounds like total bollocks to me. Just look at the language. "diamagnetic semiconducting molecular crystal tetrasilver tetroxide". Since when was a silver/oxygen compound a semiconductor? Molecular shouldn't be there either, it's not saying anything. I'm uncertain about whether tetra-silver or tetra-oxide is even possible, perhaps someone with a higher grounding in chemistry can provide an answer.

No, it's not. And you can't call it molecular if it's a compound.

Argyria sucks ass.

Silver has a lot of scams. You can make a silver solution for as little start up investment as $10, make a silver / water solution for pennies on the dollar and sell it for $5 ~ $20 a pop.

Sometimes, I wonder how people sleep at night.

Let's not start with the alarmist crackpot conspiracy theories. AIDS is most certainly not manmade. This has been debunked about eleventy-seven sixtillion times.

(By the way, the CIA invented the secret prime number eleventy-seven sixtillion, aided by funds from Halliburton's secret offshore drilling rigs in Alaska, powered by the dead bodies of kittens and obscene amounts of polluting fossil fuels. Oh, and France and Pauly Shore are involved in some way as well, but I can't say any more or the interstellar aliens from Gargalos VII will anal-probe me. =( )

Could mono-valent silver possibly be an ion? Isn't inert silver naturally mono-valent?

IIRC silver combines to form silver dioxide. you can't get tatrasilver tatroxide.

Patent does not work. look at the first pargraph and you'll know why.

Click here to patch the mozilla IDN exploit, or click Here then type in Network.enableidn and set its value to false. Restart the browser for the patches to work.

actually, maybe a cat. AIDS started quite some time ago in big cats on the African planes as FIV, feline immunodeficiency virus. It nearly wiped out the entire population of big cats, with the exception of a small portion of genetically resistant cats. These cats went on to parent all of our current big cats, and is the general concensus for why all big cats are nearly genetically identical.

from there, the disease spread to chimpanzees, now in the form of SIV, simian immunodeficiency virus. It is considered that the simian population is at the very end of it's adaption cycle to the disease.

It is also considered that humans are at the very beginning of this same adaption cycle.

that's all I remember from bio class.

Silver and oxygen combine to form silver oxide. Having a mono-, di-, tri-, or tetra- prefix indicates covalent bonding, which does not normally occur between metals and nonmetals. However, it does form AgO2, it's just called silver oxide instead of dioxide.

it sounds like this is a patent for the IDEA of creating nanobots to be injected into the blood stream and electrocute the viruses. How incredibly retarded of an idea.

Ag4O4, is a real compound, just a fancy name for silver oxide. It's used as a Microbiocide, Fungicide, and Herbicide. It's inert, but unfortunately it's also classified as a heavy metal, i.e. you won't be injecting it into your blood stream.

as for using it to create a "semiconducting crystal" structure, it wouldn't be possible, silver oxide is a conductor. Diamagnetism is the property of some non-magnetic chemicals to be slightly repelled by a magnetic field. Graphite and water are two diamagnets.
