Actually, what I want to do is register a new project module type, like the QuickReport module. I have checked the docs, there are nothing on it. Basically, what I want to do is create a module that allows only my TDXGUI* components to be dropped on. It will use TDXScreen to setup basic DDraw, then, have true RAD for the GUI for BCBDXLib. Just like the TButton, etc. components in normal BCB / Delphi work, except for DDraw. So, instead of using a special resource editor, just use BCB. Also, when changing the properties, it will change on the module view too, like TButton properties. This is the only major basic piece left, once this is in place I can work on unit encapsulation. Any ideas? I imagine something like an RegisterModule(...), following the mold of RegisterComponent(...) and RegisterPropertyEditor(...), etc. ------------------------------ BCB DX Library - RAD C++ Game development for BCB

In the constructors of the controls, check the type of the parent control. If the parent control is not of the desired type, then throw an exception. This should prevent the control being created.

So in other words, get the user to create a normal form, then drop down some kind of master control component, that then takes over control sort off, and only allows my gui components on?
That sounds good, I will think about it...
