When is Windows really loaded?

Greetings! I am writing an intense copy application for windows. I would like to start it in the "startup" folder, but I would like my application to wait until windows loads all other demanded applications. Is there any way to determine nothing loads no more at this time? I don't mean EXACTLY NOTHING, but you know, if you have 5 applications in startup folder, wait until all other 4 are at least started and then proceed. Any ideas, suggestions? Thank you in advance.

You could use the windows task scheduler to run it at a regular time or only during idle time.

Or give the process a lower priority, so it doesn't slow down other processes.

Another option could be some command line argument like /WAIT:10 which causes the application to sleep for a few seconds before starting.

What Cygon said would probably be better if you're attempting to make a copy protection software. Anything in the startup folder can be shut off; in that matter, even if you use services they can be shut off as well. You might want your application that uses this to open the program up when it's loaded.

bkt: I think the OP isn't refering to a copy protection program, but rather, something like an automatic backup system (involving a large/intense amount of copying).
OP: correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd suggest looking into either services, or thread priorities... that said, some manual delay is probably a good idea (tm) as the bottleneck with be hard drive throughput, not CPU (which is what thread priority affects).
