I've read the red book and practiced what i've learned for a while... now i want to move on: where do i begin learning the more advanced stuff? the thing i'm intrsted the most is how to draw something more lifelike then cubes and such...

You can learn almost anything you could want at this point from online tutorials. nehe.gamedev.net has tutorials on everything to setting up windows to loading models to special effects. If you search i'm sure you can find more about loading and rendering models.

Even if an example looks to advanced, see if you can get the code running and just tinker with things. I've found that playing with other people's code is usually a better way to learn a completely new topic than reading paragraphs in a book.

Ok, but i really don't know what's the name of topic i'm looking for... is it "meshes", or am i confusing it with another term?

If you're looking for advanced topics that go beyond cubes, you may want to look into NURBS.

the problem isn't with the cubes. i've read about nurbs in the red book... the problem is that now i understand how to draw a circle\cube\bezier curve... what i can't understand is how i draw a complex object, like a human. of course, i understand it's made out of a polygon strip, but what's the correct method of drawing it... how do u get the arms and legs to move, etc...

After you load it, you have the colors and vertexes in an array.
so you just draw it in triangles or quads in a loop..up to how the mesh has designed.
for animation, you probably want to look at Skeletal Animation.
There is a free skeletal animation library called Animadead if you want.

There are a couple of books about computer modeling and animation, just take a look in the books section of this website.

Also all the basic modelling of object, humans, etc; its done in a modelling package like 3d studio max or maya. Then this models are imported to openGL. Basically it saves all the donkey work of computing the geometry by hand.
