At this point, since you have already gone through the introductory stuff, you are probably ready to get into API-independent (or at least language-independent) topics. If you haven't already, I recommend that you learn vertex and pixel shaders. To do this, you are going to have a strong background in graphics theory. However, you can take your graphics apps to the next level with these hardware shaders - so it's definetly worth the learning time, IMO.

As far as resources go, the Nvidia SDK incredible. FX Composer is my shader IDE of choice. Also, the ShaderX series of books is good, too.

It's definately not more advanced, but Beginning 3D Game Programming is written by the same author and shows you how to use MDX for making games. If you haven't made a completed 3d game yet, you might want to check it out.

Another good one is Programming Role Playing Games with DirectX. It uses C++ and unmanaged DX, but it would be a pretty good exercise for you to translate its engine into C#.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. Yah, I'd say it's a good book to grab. The games are pretty neat, and his design is good (I mainly liked it for the code design).
