This post will consist of documentation about the various functions in the GDNet Gathering lib /community/gathering/lib/gatheringlib.asp [Currently a WIP] Group Management

Join Request Management All group join request management can be performed with the Gathering_ManageGroupJoinRequest function. The function prototype is: Gathering_ManageGroupJoinRequest( method, gjr_id, dgrp_id, msg, var1, var2, var3 ) The method param is one of the following constants and dictates the action of the function.


Public Const GatheringManageJoinReq_ISSUE        = 0
Public Const GatheringManageJoinReq_WITHDRAW     = 1
Public Const GatheringManageJoinReq_ACCEPT       = 2
Public Const GatheringManageJoinReq_REJECT       = 3
Public Const GatheringManageJoinReq_RENEW        = 4

Method: Issue This method will issue a join request to a user. gjr_id - Ignored dgrp_id - The group the request concerns [REQUIRED] msg - The application message supplied by the user var1 - Must be populated with the u_id of the user wanting to join the group [REQUIRED] var2 - Default JoinReq status, should really be 0 but this was allowed as a parameter for possible future use var3 - Ignored Returns Will return a numeric id of the gjr_id if successuful, otherwise a string containing the error message from the goupJoinRequest_obj object. It is important that you check if IsNumeric(return) Then ... for a successful issue. Notes If the group is an Open join group, this method will automatically call the Gathering_ManageGroupJoinRequest function with the ACCEPT method. Method: Accept The user has accepted a join request. If successful, this function will call Gathering_MemberJoinGroup (?) and the user will become a member of the group. [TODO: Params] Method: Withdraw The join request will be withdrawn and expires. The group hosts cannot admin the expired request and the member will not join the group.
