Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows any good (or the best) AI related masters courses around the world? i'm currently situated in Ireland, i've recently graduated from the School of Computer Applications. its only recently become an area of interest of mine and i'm thinking of doing a masters in this area, had to get a job for a year to be able to pay for it though...if only education was free! thank you!

Look into the University of Alberta in Canada. They have some highly respected faculty members and they look like they're trying to recruit students for their program. If you manage to get in, I'm sure they would have funding. Here's an info page:

I can recommend the university I am attending, but I can't compare it to departments at other institutions though. It's probably not known to many since it's up in the cold north (aka Norway), but the division for intelligent systems here is, in my opinion, very good. In the areas of case-based reasoning and natural language processing, the professors are highly respected, but from my experience there are good lecturers in many of the other areas as well.

You can find more information at http://www.idi.ntnu.no/division/dis/

Before choosing a school, you need to work out what aspects and applications of AI interest you the most. Are you interested in Game AI, or perhaps Robotics and Autonomous Systems? Maybe you want to look at software agent technologies?

One of the best resources for information is Stuart Russell's "AI on the Web".

Take a look through that page. If you don't find the information you're looking for there, then you're going to have to contact people and schools individually.

Cheers,

Thanks Timkin,

that link has loads of information attached to it, i'll certainly check them all out, i suppose i'm interested in the programming aspect of AI without really narrowing it down to one specific area, i have a great deal of interest in both games and robotics...sure i'll see!

thanks again though :)

I can recommend the school I took my Masters at: The University of Sussex. They're more specialised in ALife and robotics, but if that's your bag check them out.
