I made a website where you can play a lot of forum games such as the Mafia game that was famous here as well as an abundance of other games (word games, trivia games, roleplaying games, etc.) The point of the website is to get points by winnning/competing in games. You can then trade in your points for prizes and special titles. If you want to try it out, come on! NOTE: I am going to make the actualy webpage for it that just links to the forum so the name isn't so hard to remember. Come get some points! NOTE: Please read the user registration agreement. There is something you have to do with it that you won't catch unless you actually read it. I will know if you don't delete it and you will have 3 days to do what it says or I will delete you. It is really easy to do, so you might as well. http://xsorbit27.com/users5/forumgames/index.php (I couldn't figure out how to make a link :( )

The mafia forum game was based off of a "real-life" game you play to keep yourself entertained around a camp fire.

The game starts off with the game host picking two mafia and one detective. The game host tells these people their identity and keeps it secret to everyone else. Everyone else are citizens (depending on how many players there are). Each round consists of night and day. During the night, everyone closes their eyes and the mafia get together and decide who to kill. The detective then decides on which citizen to investigate and finds out their identity (mafia or citizen). During the day, the whole group debates with each other and decides on who to hang. It is usually done in a democratic way with votes. This can create a very fun situation with lots of lies and secret aliances. The most important role is the game host who must keep everyone's identity confidential.

In my opinion, this didn't do too well as a forum game. It's more effective when everyone's present and actually there to witness events as they take place.
