this is happening all too often. Scary stuff.

The rep from Abertay at the Universities convention in Edinburgh was desperate for me to go there and do Games Technology, and I'm still convinced it'll be a good idea once I get my CS degree from St Andrews.

The closure of one company isn't the end of the industry in Scotland, it'll recover.

What does "placed in administration" mean? I assume it's some sort of euphemism.

Bankruptcy. Their assets are being acquired and liquidated by their creditors, but there's a waiting period during which one investor could purchase the whole lot in a firesale. After that, things get broken up and sold to a bunch of people.

it sorely dents the confidence of it though...it's hard enough for small developers to get money from investors or the public purse as it is, Vis going may just about kill investment here.

Really? I found the game to be pretty lame. Probably why it only costs $10 to get a new copy now.

Damn, I was very close to joining them as a designer a while back, but the whole BAM! thing put me off. Lucky me, I guess.

It's a damn shame when things like this happen.
