Folks, Charles River Media is ramping up development of Game Programming Gems 6, the 6th book in their series. See the website below for details (schedule and submission sections are helpeful): Game Programming Gems I will once again be editing the Physics section. If you have developed a novel physics technique or solution that is applicable to real-time games (PC, home console, handheld), please consider submitting a chapter proposal for review. There are a variety of different topic areas beyond physics, and chapter proposals are requested in all areas. If your chapter proposal is selected, you will be asked to sign a contract to develop a full chapter within the given schedule. Chapters are nominally 10 pages. This series of books is full of handy techniques for game development. Some of the ideas are commonly known, some less so. But all are well presented and nicely packaged for easy access. What do you get for contributing? A nice trophy for one thing. There's nothing like having a copy of a book that you helped write on your bookshelf. Also, authorship helps to nicely fill out a resume, and can help you get jobs or work. Need I mention the satisfaction of a job well done that contributes to the community? Authors do also get a royalty based on sales, so it can be a nice opportunity to earn a couple of bucks (though you won't get rich!). Thank you for you attention!
