They copied my game before i made it!!

I came up with the idea of Ultima Online when Ultima 6 was released. Who can I sue? ;) The fast will eat the slow I guess.

Don't you know:

Everyone has the same Ideas (TM). Humanity is a writhing mass of reproduction, regurgitation and repetition...

yeah, that's because the needs of people are relatively similar in the end.

one writer makes a good book and an other finds out and copies it.
both claims its their book. But only one will be able to continu the book and make it better. =)
Go for your idea make it better. If thay complain show them your design docs =)

When I started looking at game development, I had an idea for a hybrid engine, combining points of BSP and terrain engines. That was about 2 years before Far Cry was announced.. but I never had the ability to make them.. god I was pissed. :)

Why not? After all, there's plenty of kiddie shows that portray people running around the world playing games instead of doing the normal things people do (go to school/work), so you might have a chance. ;)

If you want to implement something that nobody else will steal, then just start kidnapping homeless people. Most of them are schizophrenic, so just keep looking until you find a particularly crazy one. Then, just start doing what he says. No sane person will ever think up this stuff, and no crazy people are smart enough to implement it. You'll be rich in no time. Especially since your idea man will work for food.
