Hi, First off, i`ll get the biggest stumbling block out of the way, we are a internet based team(simply because thats how we started) and dont get paid(until we release a game), still intrested? read on! We`re(More on us later!), looking for 1, maybe 2 quality artists(2d or 3d, or better yet both)(we have 3 artists already) and someone for soundfx(but thats least important..as we have 2 muscians already) Who we are?(only one of us are famous!) Antony Wells, Game Design, Programming Si---(Cant revel full name..for legal reassons(yep, hes the famous one!, worked on a game thats in the top 5 selling games of all time) - Graphics, 3d, In game, and FMV Crygou - 2D Charcter artist and character design Johnatahn Naylor - Graphics Rob van Der Plunk - Music Steve Harrision - Music/SoundFx most the past month as been mainly been orginising and so on, the game we`re diong first is called "Torn Horizion", i`m currently doing the map engine and map editor, the game? its not my main dream game(its just a starter project), think alien breed crossed with silent hill, set on a derilict space ship, the gfx are so far better then just about any 2d game you could mention(way better then diablo 2) get in touch at SolidKojima@EmotionBlur.FsNet.Co.Uk (you dont have to have any experince..just include some of ya work, then if we like it..we`ll send you a demo and so on so you can make your mind up, if we do make it..and a game goes commercial all profits will be split evenly..) Before anyone replies to this post, let me tell you a little about our Antony:

1) He has a fetish for Metal Gear Solid, and thinks its real.
Every other thing he will tell you be based around MGS, mention MGS or just basically tell you about MGS.
The worst thing is that he is so caught upo in this sad little world, that he used the name "SolidKojima" on the Blitz mailing list in honour of Solid Snake and Hideo Kojima, the start of, and creator of MGS respectively.
Hey Antony - get a life SADDO!

2) Has no common sense.

3) Cant code to save his life, although a lot of his claims say otherwise, he cant turn these into realisty.

4) Hell suck you in and spit you out, he has done it before and will do it again. ie. Quit the project!

5) He has a VERY bad reputation on both the BlitzBasic and Darkbasic boards for being an arrogant little runt, and if you post a message on wither board asking about him, all the replies will tell you that he is a sad, dumb little kid, who has a big mouth and no brain.

6) Thats right, whatever claims he has made about his game or anything, it is being coded in Basic, and although the Blitz incarnation is powerful and fast, I
m pretty sire its not upto what Antony is telling everyone!!!

So in retrospect, anyone working with this guy should seriously think again.

If he is telling the truth about this famous guy (who he can
t name - isnt that funny!) then i say : Why the hell are you working with a lame retard like Antony, on such a small stupid project ??

Surely if you have worked on one of the top-selling games in the world then you have better job offers than a spotty lamer teenager programming in his bedroom!!!
And if you don
t have a better offer, then its prbably Antony over-exagerating again, as he does that quite a lot!

You have been warned!!

(Claps), your a fool.

The game is nothing like metal gear?,
i can code in c++, pascal and basic.

ill give you a clue about the game, the artist worked on

the main character has big tits and shes english....need i say more?

Your obviously someone who
s jealous of an original idea...

or proberly pissed of by the fact the in 3 days me and john, created kami-chi, which along with Tracers Blitzanoid
is the only playable game done in blitz.

and for your information you would have to be a
very talented C++ programmer to achive the same
speed has blitz..its a compiled langauge...

I DONT use darkbasic.

I
m just a creative person and that proberly scares you,
i bet your one of the twats who makes them lame little games
with no big plans or summat...get real man..
and why the hell are you posting here? you think i or anyone else for that matter cares about anything you have to say?

Leave games to the people who know how to make them....

PLEASE though..leave your e-mail..I would LOVE to send you a demo
in a week or so, and watch you sit there and cry in self pity...

and im not a kid, havnt been a kid for a few years now mate.

Well I think the people on here will want to hear what I have to say - maybe you dont because the truth hurts ?

I think the people on here have a right to know about this, and so that they don
t waste their time with tin-pot outfit like yourself.

And for peoples information, Kam-Chi is one of the worst games I have ever played, and the so called "motion blur" effect, is in fact the same graphics drawn at a slight offset 3 or 4 times, more like a trail than motion blur in my book, and looks horrible, and is unplayable!

And it makes you feel sick cos it looks so bad!!

Anyone, I went off-track there...I dont have anything else to say, except that I posted to warn the people that read this so they dont get involved in a total time wasting project, where you simply can`t deliver all that you say you can!

This sounds intriguing. OK, the both of you, make a tank game. The one who can take such a simple concept and make it the most fun and creative is the one who is right. Think of it as being placed in a box with 3 colors and one brush. It takes a lot of creativity to make something big out of something small.

I really dont want to get involved in this little cat fight, but when soldikojwhatever said that he has some guy who worked on a game featuring an english chick with big tits, did he mean Tifa from FF7? If he did, then that claim has got to be bs. I doubt that anyone who worked for a game so great would be bothering with some teenagers project, no matter how good he/she is. I''m not trying to insult anyone, but be realistic. That Si... person who can''t be named (legal reasons say you can''t mention a name? BS!!! ) is probably working on Final Fantasy X-XIII, and if they dont work for SquareSoft anymore (highly unlikely) they probably would be working on some other, high budget project. Think about it... If you had FF7 on resume, would you have trouble looking for a job? Dont bother thinking, the answer is NO!!!!

And that, is my two cents...

Yes, Tifa, being from a japanese game, set in some mystical world, made in JAPAN,
has suddenly become english and has big tits..your a smart one
anit you?

And cant name for legal reassons cos said person is still under contract...

My sentiments exactly guys, he is FULL of fit!!!

I just wanted to warn people before they got roped into doing something with a loser who spouts shit before he thinks about the consequences.

Also find it funny that he says he has so many people working on his game, yet only 1 programmer (himself)....anyone else find it strange, I smell a bit of fish ;P

Anyway, thanks for you guys to realising what I was trying to do, not trying to start a cat-fight or anything, just trying to stop anyone wasting time and effort when they could be working on a proper project.

Hmm..English Chick, big tits.....I think Lara Croft......
Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.....
Tomb Raider made by Core.....
Which means that this Si character must be under contract still by Core......

maybe a swift email to the guys at Core mentioning the fact that some little runt is giving their compnay a bad name by saying that one of their guys is working on the side.....
OR
if he is telling the truth, that one of their guys is a traitor.

either way he cant be doing much for Core, apart from wanting to leave, and Im sure they would like to know about this.
I will be sending the mail as soon as this is posted.

My last words are that Antony is a liar, no-one who works on a tope-selling game would have ANY trouble finding work, thats even if the company released him in the first place!!!
And Im 100% sure he wouldnt be scouring forums for some 2bit job with a nobody, when he could get a job at a proper Software House with a salary, or set-up on his own with some other guys who also have worked in the industry, as this happens a lot.

Either way - put a plug in it!!!

Look..your so smart and so knowing....then me and you go head to head..
give it a week for us to both make a game in the same style
and see who wins...i would make a game better then you could in one year,

im being full of it? will prove me wrong...
if you dont take up the challenge then your nothing more then hot-air mate...dont be such a girl, who runs round looking to start fights then calls her mummy and runs home as soon as someone talks back..you twat.

now he
ll either never reply here again or he`ll totally ignore this post...i feel hes just a kid...i mean come on, no adult(unless on drugs, which is nice..but thats another matter all together!) would go on like such a twat.

and just so its fair..let the people here judge which game is best....

and to be even fairer..post both games up..and DONT say which one is by which......

that way people will have no clue other then the games them-self...

go ahead punk...make my day!

Okay people! Let us be realistic! No good game is written in 7 days! Tell your mother that it is possible. A little demo could be done but that''s just a question about the better technic used in it. Why should it be forbidden to say the foumos name (BTW: Didn''t know that FF7 was made in the UK :-) ). Futhermore why does Mr. IKNOWWHOYOUARE can''t give his real name and why should any well known artist work with a team together that can''t pay for his work? Or even: Would any artist work with a team where just one coder is going to make that damn code? No! Even I wouldn''t and I am not a well known coder outa there! Moreever: Did Lara ever changhed her look after the first and even worse game TB1) -just my opinion! Don''t blame me! And it would be nice if I can read the backcomming email.

7 Days ???
7DAYS !!!

LOL!!!

This just proves what an idiot you are that you think a game can be made in 7 days - my games arent even out of the planning stage after 7 days.

But then I go for quality, not speed of production, and don
t like to rush things.

Anyway, Id love to take you up on your challenge, but unfortunately Im caught up in a project of my own, and unlike you Antony, am not willing to stick it to one side for a whole week (should be longer) leaving my artists and sound guys hanging around, while I play around with you!

Shows your commitment to the cause dont you say!

And also highlights your pathetic "I
m better than you" attitude which is why everyone on the DarkBasic and BlitzBasic scene hates your guts!

InsanE: You make a good point about Antont being the only programmer, and why an artist of *allegedly* such a high reputation would work with him.
This is my point exactly, and its my guess its just Antony lying to try and con people into working with him.
I simply posted to stop people on here (talented people mind ;P) wasting their time listening to Antonys plans to take on the world in his Solid Snake suit, when they could get involved in a project that would:

a) Get finished
b) Be good
c) Invlove a team, not just 1 programmer

How he expects to write a game with 4 artists and 2 sound guys (or whatever the numbers are) and him be the ONLY programmer is ridiculous.
It
s either that he cant code and doesnt want others to find out (by looking at his code) or no programmer from the Blitz or Darkbasic community would be stupid enough to work with him cos they know what he is like!

Being on a team of my own, i know what its like. However, the reason people think thoughts of me is i live myself and solitarily confine my ideas. You put forth no basis on your idea, and come brag about it on a message board. Unforetunatly, doing so shows your complete lack of professionalism, thought, and mindfulness. Suprisingly, SquareSoft isnt as big as you think - someone who worked for the Legend of Mana is considering my PSX project presently (seriously). SquareSoft contracts out to anyone with the talent like every other company and uses their talent to promote their game. Allot of people nowadays seem to lack knowledge of the market, business, and general understanding of the basis of a game.

Let me state for the record games are the hardest part of programming - the streik taken to create one is tough. Without a business plan, site, help, money, production assistance, market knowledge, and well, basic intelligence and comprehension of your surroundings your toast! Frankly blowing steem wont help - every single person on this board has dreams of the ULTIMATE GAME however people with realistic images and business sense/professionalism are the ones who get those dreams done. Study up on the market and in a few years you can try again - i dont see your project going too far currently

Well, my two sense based on experience, good luck with that ultra-special-really-awesome person on your project of which you cannot name for safety reasons (..?)

Hmmm - perhaps have the artist give us a mail address or come on here in person to see us? Wed love to talk, and im sure he/she would LOVE to see the steam your blowing about him/her. Additionally my team is about 3 months ahead of yours and if he/she exists, im sure at this point we could better arrange something that pays

Bragging??? Ok, if thats how you see it fine...
Next time ill say "yea umm, doing game..umm reply"???

And IKnowWhatYouDidLastSummer(or whatever), its nothing about being who
s better...you just called me crap basicly..and im more then willing to prove you wrong,

in seven days you can easily create a fun, playable game....

ok i know a proper game takes months...but anyway..

its pretty clear your all hot-air...if your not gonna back it up then shut it up... i see no reasson why your even posting here other then to show off?

as for 1 programmer...we do have another one sort of, hes TapeWorm, but he uses C++ and at the moment i cant because after installing the DirectX8 SDK, well, it wont work(even the pre-compiled examples) damn something to do with my lame gfx card...
but that
ll all be changing soon as im on the XBox Indie Developers Programer

Legend of mana?, i have secret....did they do a sequel on Snes or PSX???

one last thing...iknowwhatyouare, i
ll post a few shots here of Torn Horizion in a couple of weeks(Its pretty much in the initial design stages...as it was a new idea of ours..put my main ideas on the back-burner till we get some experince working together)

oh kewlmode(just remembered your little commnet ) feel free to try and take him....obvisouly your ideas and plans would have to better mine(the reasson he is working with us...not money),
:-D
