Well good luck with that. There is one final suggestion I'd like to make. I don't know how much progress you have on your game or what your personal goals are, but you could always consider joining an existing team you know? Especially if you end up joining a team that has good teamwork, you can get some great insight into how to successfully manage a game development team. The team I work with now I absolutely love and have no problems with any individual. They are all very focused and very open people who work towards the goals of the game/project, and not just their own personal ambitions. I did have to weed out both applicants and some previous employees that didn't measure up though, so it hasn't been perfect from the beginning. [wink]
I'd like to think I'm fairly successful at team management (or maybe I just got lucky and all the right people found me [grin]). I think the first step to building a successful team is hiring the right people, and not just hiring anyone who can do the work required. Actually I've been asked by someone before how I built and manage a great team and I think I posted a thread on it somewhere...ah here it is:
Forming a dedicated team
If you'd like, you can read that thread and hopefully pick some insight and words of wisdom from there. Let us know how things go with breaking off from your old team!

I agree with the AP. Don't show them this thread. It will just make them defencive/angry and won't change their minds.
Time to move on and find a new team. Good luck with your project and hope you reach you target in the end.
