I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any good resources regarding deformable meshes. I am interested in doing something with real time deformable surfaces such as terrain (or maybe volumes of some sort) for my honours project at university, I have already started gathering some resources, I found the article at Gamasutra on 2D surface deformation and have grabbed the Eberly book on which covers deformation, but I was just wondering if anyone here may know of anything they have unearthed before. Or maybe if you have actually done some work on this sort of stuff before and feel like sharing, any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Thanks guys, i've actually managed to find quite a bit of stuff now, I looked up the references in the Eberly book and am now trudging through numerous SIGGRAPH paper on FFD (free form deformation) and EFFD etc. "Real Time..." articles look quite useful, in fact someone in my group is doing similar stuff, sure he read the same article, sounds like what he was on about!

BeanDog, I haven't read the paper properly yet so I'm not sure either (though the plasticity and cluster stuff may be of use) but i wathced the video and you're right, awesome stuff!

Thanks folks

PS i found a post by neXius called Bezier Terrain Demo/Test from March 2004 which had a link to a demo, if you read this or anyone who does has it I would be interested in seeing it if thats alright? just curious!
