Hey Java Freaks. We have something to play for you .... Check it out and tell us about your experience with it... Hotelbuster is a free cross-platform tilebased, turn-based strategy game (TBS). According to the existing board game hotel from MB(GER) we implemented the existing board game with some extensions (mostly new features added to the prescribed gamerules) completely in a Client-Server based Java Application. As well as the JCraft project, this project is provided by nullpointer.ch At that time being only a few implementations of the board game existed before. Unfortunately most of the implementations are either not portable or do hardly provide a decent ruleset and are not extensible at all as well. This implementation is designed to be portable. Hotelbuster is Free Software, distributed under the terms of the GPL General Public License. Please check out our side and read Game rules! You might have never heard of this TBS game before. Hence we suggest to read up on it. Download it here and test it and feedback... General ********* -Tile-based, turn based, isometric Game Engine -Zoomable & Movable map -Convenient Server Configuration -Customizable maps -Client-Server architecture -Open source project distributed under the terms of the GPL (General Public License) -Platform independent (Java) -Slightly changed game rules to improve the game flow. Functional Supported Game Features ***************************************** -Buy properties -Build hotel buildings -Buy entrances -Get free entrances -Get free build phases -Auction hotels -Chat -Credit request from Bank and opponents -Credit payback support -Sound Here some screenshots to get your attention... We would appreciate any critic and suggestions... Thank you guys P.S: -Sorry that neither the client nor the sever is java webstartable -Further, only java5 compilant. (We'll change this within this week though). So at the moment we only have batch-files or ant. Read the README file provided by the release...

Looks good except you shouldn't take those images from Simcity 2000.

He's already breaking the law by using someones existing property in the game itself. I'm sure stealing images is the least of his worries.

Dude this is just an example... You can load your own images yourself...

Is this all you guys have to say about it? If yes sorry that we took your
time and we will take the stuff down... Since nobody shows interest in playing it!

By the way what do you mean by that?

Unfortunatly, some of the mod's have a bee in their bonet about copyright and IP theft (which may or may not be happening here, the OP has said nothing about it).

That means, in this case, that most of the responses you get will relate to that, because the users think the mod's will like them a bit better.

I did dl the game and briefly had a go (I dont have a lot of time right now) and it looks quite nice (and very different from the usual crap that gets posted).

Well at least we two share our interest... Although we took it down on SF and on
our side as well... Since the actual part we want is developing the stuff.
Especially on our other project called JCraft.

But its just too bad that nobody shows interest in them... It's free ultimately and we don't demand anything. Just want some feedback about its play, possible bugs, etc.
We know that the game is not a simple FPS where you just shoot around and is
simple to play... it takes more time as most strategy games do...
So our suggestion was: Get some people to play the game and receive some feedback about the game play so that we can do modifications...
