WreckedGames: A website dedicated to providing lib's for indy game makers. OIS: Object Oriented Input System (Sourceforge project name wgois) Brief description: This lib has only been in production for a short time (a few weeks of real development), but is almost at a useable state. This lib aims to replace the need for SDL just for input on multiple OS's and platforms. Also, with a very unrestricting license (zlib/libpng) client applications can link, modify, and not have to release their changes - this way, consoles with strict NDA requirements can still use this lib. And applications can add custom device support also. Target aim: Freeware - zlib/libpng license Compensation: No pay, and no revenue.. Just helping out current/future developers... Technology: DirectInput, X11, cpp Talent needed: Currently in need of a Quality Mac OSX Programmer. Perferably, someone who knows how to use native Input in MaxOSX environment (HID Manager) or someone who is willing to learn. Team structure: Current Team is just me. I am in charge of the project.. And currently responsible for the Win32 (DirectInput8) and Linux (X11) input implementations. Depending on level of commitment, project admin status and/or cvs commit access may be given. However, credit will be given for any and all work will be given - even in the form of patches. Website: Forums Wiki Sourceforge project page Contacts: Forums Additional Info: Currently, there exists no crossplatform Object Oriented Input lib that I am aware of, that allows access to Mice/keyboard/Gamepads/Joysticks. The closest thing possible is SDL (which is c - makes extending difficult, burdened by LGPL - makes console support next to impossible)... An easy to use, reliable, and extendable lib is my goal. By contributing to this lib, you are not only contributing to Indy Game Developers, but any developer who wants Input is a crossplatform way. Feedback: ENCOURAGING ONLY

Just a little update...

I have released version 0.3.0 which works good on Win32 (DirectInput) and Linux (X Windows Events) with keyboard, mouse, and joysticks (from the limited joystick I tested). There is even an action mapping demo, which makes use of CEGUI (0.4.0) and OGRE (at least 1.0.5). Though, in Linux, the build configure script does not build the lib if Ogre and CEGUI are not found.. However, in the latest CVS, it checks more elegently for CEGUI & OGRE, and just does not build the Ogre demo.

Also, In CVS, I have begun integrating Force Feedback support... Though, I am still greatly in need a Mac porter/maintainer... As, I plan on version 0.4 having a Mac port (Along with Force Feedback working).
